Free School Meals

Your child may be eligible for free school meals if you are in receipt of the following

- Income Support
- Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
- Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
- The guaranteed element of State Pension Credit
- Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190
- Working Tax Credit run-on – paid 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
- Universal Credit

You may be aware that schools' budgets are enhanced through a 'Pupil Premium' grant and this income to the School is determined by the number of students eligible for a Free School Meal (FSM).

Just registering your child for Free School Meals means that the school will receive additional funding to support their learning.

We appreciate that some parents do not claim Free School Meals as they feel that they can cope without doing so. Our NRS tills in school ensure who are in receipt of FSM have absolute privacy and are not easily identified by their peers. This is because all payments are credited directly onto the student's personal account and for those children in receipt of FSM, this is done automatically.

Catering at St Andrew's

If you are entitled to free school meals please note that the allowance is now £2.35 per day. Your allowance is worth £446.50 per year and out online system will load £2.35 each day automatically. Any unused allowance will be removed at the end of each day. Our account details are completely confidential.

Our main meals are £2.35 - excellent value for money! All food is cooked fresh on site.

We also have items for sale at 30p available at breakfast, mid-morning break and lunchtime, e.g. croissants, fruit juice and fresh fruit. We hope this enables a child to buy something in addition to their main meal.

The £2.35 allowance can also be spent of anything we sell. Your child chooses! Parents / Carers can top up their child's account and also set a daily maximum spend limit to allow your child to spend more.

We encourage FSM pupils to bring their own drinks from home especially during the hot weather. Fresh drinking water is available in school throughout the day.

FSM pupils are entitled to a packed lunch if they are going on a school trip. This needs to be ordered the day before and collected at Breakfast Time on the day of the excursion.

Parents are required to apply for FSM through Croydon's online portal. Please follow the link below and follow the simple instructions;
