Coaching for Success
So what is ‘Coaching for Success’? It is a personal development programme aimed at a selection of Year 10/11 students who are currently not fulfilling their educational potential. It consists of a series of training and coaching sessions that work with the students on removing obstacles and reaching their goals. The organisation which is coordinating the programme in conjunction with the local authority is called Youth at Risk. This is a very successful charity, which has a proven track record over several years of facilitating real change in the lives and aspirations of young people.
The programme runs for 10 months. There will be an initial intensive training session followed by a programme of coaching and support for the remainder. At the end of the initial training, students will be allocated an ‘Education Performance Coach’ from the local community who will work with them to accomplish self set goals and the academic targets agreed between themselves and their teachers.

Work Experience
All Year 10 students go out on work experience placements. You must complete 10 days in a placement over a 2 week period (28th June - 9th July). All Year 10 students are issued with a work related learning handbook which contains important and relevant information to help you through the work experience process.

UPDATE:
The majority of Year 10 students were given blue work experience agreement forms in the week before the half term break. The forms need to be signed by the student, parent/carer and employer before the placement begins. Students need to urgently contact their employer and make an appointment to have their form signed; some employers may ask for an interview. I will be happy to have ‘ interview-practice sessions’ with students if they make an appointment with me. Signed agreement forms should be with me by Monday 14th June although some employers may not be able to see students before that date. I am aware that a handful of students still do not have agreement forms yet, the reason being that I am waiting for them to be forwarded to me by our service provider, CEBP, and will pass them to students as soon as I receive them.
Parents/carers: Please ask your young person if they have an agreement form and encourage them to get the form signed and returned to Ms Campbell before placements start.
Thank you
